Adebowale Adedayo Mr Macaroni and the Trails - Bababo Ikuemonisan.

In the Nigerian Entertainment industry and celebrity activism, one of the figures that has not only fascinates but also motivates me is Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni. Daddy Wa, Ooin or Professor Hard Life as fondly called is a multi-talented personality, who has done excellently well for himself and continues to blaze the trails.

Born on 3rd May, 1993, Mr. Macaroni is an actor, comedian, producer, director and activist, who rose to the top through the penchant of diligence, consistency, creative brilliance and admirable entrepreneurial dexterity.

An indigene of Ogun State. However, based in Lagos State, Mr. Macaroni is a detribalized Nigerian public figure whose academic trajectory is enough to discourage the faint heart.

Mr. Macaroni attended Tendercare International Nursery and Primary school in Ojota, Ogudu, now at Magodo, Isheri. After which, he proceeded to Babcock University High School for his secondary education. In 2009, he gained admission to Lead University, Ibadan to study law. Unfortunately, he was forced to leave the University due to its accreditation issue.

In 2011, Mr. Macaroni gained admission to Study law again. This time, at Houdegbe North American University, Cotonou, Benin Republic. However, owning to his human rights advocacy, he was forced to leave.

Upon leaving Cotonou, Adebowale Adedayo concluded not to seek further education but focus on his acting career. He featured in a few movies and sitcoms. He was however persuaded by his parents to complete his education. This time, he pursued Theatre Arts at Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti. Here too, several factors led him not to complete his education. In 2013, Adebowale Adedayo eventually gained admission into Redeemer's University, Osun State, where he finally earned a degree in Theatre Arts and Film Studies in 2018.

Suffice to expound that, Mr. Macaroni was an active part of the #EndSARS protest. In fact, a key leader of the protest against Police brutality and leadership ineptitude in Nigeria. For his Human Rights stance and involvement in the #EndSARS protest, Adebowale Adedayo was arrested alongside other numerous protestors by the police. They were savagely and mercilessly brutalized by the Nigerian police until public outcry forced the police to release.

No doubt Adebowale Adedayo Mr Macaroni's advocacy for human rights almost hampered his stride to get higher education. But he stood tall and was staunchly motivated to achieve this dream. More fundamentally, during the course of his recurring academic challenges, which were not unconnected to his resonant voice for the advocacy of human rights, he embraced his acting gifting, stayed diligence, consistent and eventually carved a niche for himself.

Mr Macaroni isn't just an actor or comedian, but a sterling brilliant one that infuses his brilliance, superlative dexterity and sophistication into his Art. Little wonder, he has gone from mere skit making to featuring in the biggest blockbuster|cinema films such as Ponzi (2021), Tunde Kilani's Ayinla (2021), Kunle Afolayan's Anikulapo (2022), Femi Adebayo's King of Thieves: Agesinkole (2022), Jade Osiberu's Brotherhood (2022), Femi Adebayo's Jagun Jagun (2023) to mention a few.

Adebowale Adedayo's exceptional exploits and contributions to the field of Human Rights Advocacy, Arts and Entertainment are widely acknowledged. In fact, these have earned him two Doctorate degrees from two different Universities; Hill City University, Benin Republic where he was conferred the award of Doctor of Arts (Honoris Causa) and Precious Corner Stone  University, Ibadan where he was conferred the award of Doctor of Creative Writing (Honoris Causa).

Without mincing words, Adebowale Adedayo Mr Macaroni's exploits and successes so far, are a testament to the blessings that abound in diligence, consistency, recognizing and harnessing one's in-built talent and the fundamental of making patent contributions to human development in one's chosen craft. For Adebowale Adedayo Mr. Macaroni the ground remains ever fertile and many more exploits and blessings are underway. I celebrate this icon, sterling creative and leader. I look forward to him expanding his brilliance to cause transformation in the walls of the University in the future.
