The official thriller drops on Friday 25 November, 2022 on iROYAL TV.

A Child of My Own Directed, Produced and Co-written by yours truly, Bababo Ikuemonisan delves into a salient yet not often talked about subject matters by Scholars, Storytellers and Filmmakers of African origin - the menaces of infertility, subjugation, oppression and terrorism of Barren or Yet-to-conceive women and wives.

As a realistic portraiture,  A Child of My Own brings to the fore that, barren or Yet-to-conceive women and wives are unloved, abandoned to solitude and allowed to wallow in unthinkable psychological pains in the African Socio-Cultural System. They are treated worst than slaves or outcasts. This is in spite their enormous contribution to the upkeep of the family and combining numerous chores to preserve family values. Consequently, they become objects of daily ridicule and denied their rightful places as wives deserving respect, love and dignity.
This is ultimately the plight of Nnena (Blessing Omoniye) in the hands of her Mother-in-law (Parka Ukatta) in A Child of My Own.

A Child of My Own is a good film, filled with moments of cruel sadness, and shattering ecstasy. An artistically and aesthetically wrought work of Art. The film thrives on lush cinematography, compelling storytelling and wins big with pomp, revelling and appropriate use of costumes.

With A Child of My Own, we open up new discourse. A story with a heart. Well wrought!
We have no doubt you will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
