ETIKAN KINGDOM CELEBRATES CHIEF S. OLA AJIMISAN ON THE COMPLETION OF HIS DOCTORAL DEGREE AND HIS NEW LITERARY TEXT.

The Palace of the Olikan of Etikanland and the good people of Etikan Kingdom celebrate and congratulate their literary luminary and cultural amazon, Sir (Chief) S. Ola Ajimisan, the Lema (official spokesperson and chronicler) of Etikan Kingdom on the successful defence of his doctoral thesis at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, southwestern Nigeria.

Besides the successful defence of his PhD in Cultural Studies and Folkloric Literature, four days after the final doctoral defence, Dr. (Chief) S. Ola Ajimisan added another compelling book of poetry, SYMPHONY OF THE CREEKS AND THE FORESTS, which documents the travail of a nation crashing under the jackboots of insecurity and the perennially neglected littoral denizens grappling with the throes of ocean upsurge and environmental degradation.

Ajimisan's doctoral thesis which is cardinally hinged on the employment of space/anthroposcene as stage/ theatre, ritual and performance aesthetics in Kiriji (the royal funerary rite of Ilaje-Etikan) takes the projection and globalisation of the cultural heritage of Etikan Kingdom to another level. Through the art or science of knowing which Ngugi Wa thiong'o conceptualised as globalectics, Ajimisan foregrounded Etikan Kingdom and its virile cultural identity for global audience and eternal academic discourses. On this note, the Olikan of Etikanland, Oba Temidayo Solomon Owoyele (JP, GCOO), Akintimehin II, on behalf of the good people of Etikan Kingdom, celebrates the iconic ambassador of the kingdom on his twin feats within a week.

Kabiyesi appreciated him for his indefatigable efforts at selling or commodification of the cultural heritage of Etikan Kingdom to the global cultural market. He offered prayers and spiritual blessings on behalf of the kingdom for more of lofts and knowledge.
