CALL TO OGHONNE HALL OF FAME: ETIKAN LAND HONOURS ITS LUMINOUS SUNS.

LIST OF NOMINEES FOR 2023 MAIDEN EDITION OF OGHONNE HALL OF FAME, ILAJE-ETIKAN KINGDOM, ONDO STATE SOUTHWESTERN - NIGERIA

It is a known fact that a prophet is not honoured in his father's house. The story of how the kindred spirits of Jesus Christ despised him as ordinary son of a carpenter suffices here. Ilaje-Etikan Kingdom is changing the narrative in this regard by honouring all the "LUMINOUS SUNS" of Etikan extraction who are doing fantastically and scintillatingly well in their respective areas of expertise as illustrious and enviable ambassadors of the kingdom and Ilajeland wherever they are. This is also to show that we are proud of them and their gargantuan strides in their respective areas of human knowledge and endeavours while they are still alive and can appreciate the honour. This is the first time in Ilajeland that a Kingdom is paying attention to all her seeds all over the world to appraise and appreciate how well they are faring in their hustling. As a mark of royal honour, the Local Organising Committee of Etikan Day/ Cultural Festival (2023), on behalf of Alayeluwa His Ancestral Majesty, Temidayo Solomon Owoyele-Oholo, Akintimehin 11, the Olikan of Etikan Land, the Prescribed Authority and Paramount Ruler of Etikan Land, have, after painstaking screening and scrutiny, validly nominated the illustrious ambassadors of Ilaje-Etikan under the various categories as shown in the nomination document attached to this article for royal honour known as OGHONNE HALL OF FAME, ILAJE-ETIKAN KINGDOM, ONDO STATE, SOUTHWESTERN,  NIGERIA. This call/invitation to the Hall of Fame is not just an empty honour done as a bait of fundraising but a token of the Kingdom's appreciation of the nominees' service to humanity and promotion of Ilajeland. The organisers adopted the name "OGHONNE " for historical reason because Oghonne is a generic ancestral name of the ancestors of Etikan, Ilaje-Aheri and Ilaje-Ugbo believed to be united in the past by one fraternal bond/origin at I/Ugbomekun (Ile-Ife) in the pre-Oduduwa chronicles of Yoruba history and the politics of Erunomi (ancient Confederacy in which the almighty Olugbo of Ugbo Land was reputed to be the president and the Olikan his vice president). This is to also allow the organisers honour other Ilaje compatriots who are not of Etikan extraction and strengthen socio-cultural and political fraternisation and cohesion in Ilajeland.
