A Clergyman Accompanies Omoyele Sowore to Court : Why the Hypocrisy? ~Ikuemonisan Bababo

The media space has been inundated with mixed reactions, with many throwing tantrums at human right Activist, @YeleSowore after a Spiritual Leader followed him to court in his religious habit in a bid to show him solidarity.

While many called Yele Sowore unprinted names for identifying with the religious leader of Traditional Religion extraction, very few praised him for upholding African ingenious, rich culture, tradition and custom that have been deserted for foreign culture, belief and religion that today leave Africa in shambles.

The enthusiasts and devotees of the trio are mere hypocrites and the enablers of unbelievable vile acts that today punctured ancestral veneration, brotherhood, unity of purpose, collective well-being and a continent growing genuinely and developing ingeniously at it own pace. Instilling greed, self-aggrandizement, criminality and nonchalant to the happiness and well-being of others.

Isn't it hypocritically hypocritic that we hail Clergymen of the Christian and Islamic faiths when they accompany political criminals to court but we are quick to insult Sowore for allowing a clergy of the African religious faith do same?

Omoyele Sowore has never for once stolen from public treasury, he has been championing the course for the emancipation of Nigerians from the clutches of man-made poverty, misery, injustices, mindless corruption, and other political misadventures enthrone by the Nigerian political elites. Yet, we fail to see his patriotism and astute commitment to a better Nigeria and choose to drag him for identifying with a religion our forebears were deeply rooted in and from which our collective patrimony remains undetached.

No matter how we dismiss or rubbish Traditional African Religion, it's spiritual leaders and devotees, it won't change the sordid realities in the continent, until we are mentally emancipated and do not just profess devotion to foreign religions but become human in its purest form embracing truth, respecting others faiths, and prioritize not just our happiness and well-being but that of others.
