A Review Of Beyoncé 's Black Is King Musical Film by Ikuemonisan Bababo

If you have seen Beyoncé 's Black is King Musical film. Then, you have seen one of the best piece of arts. If yet to see it. I'm here to wet your appetite so not to miss the best strides of mankind in connecting with our innermost humanity.

Beyoncé 's Black Is King  Visual currently on Disney+ is the Pop Star's complimentary effort to her previous works, The Lion King Live action and her 2019, The Lion King: The Gift Album.

Subsequent upon release, Black Is King cast a spell on the entire world and this stems from Beyoncé 's timeless, meaningful and aesthetic musical film with appearances from Jay-z, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Rowland, and Pharrell.

The star studded Musical Film also boosts African's Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, Mr. Eazi among others.  Hence, didn't just tell Black Story as some people claimed, but representing the true essence of our collective humanity.

With her Black Is King, Beyoncé identifies with the realities of Blacks in lands far away from Africa. Thus, acknowledging the deep-seated issues the world continue to grapple with and drumming into our ears, that all humans irrespective of colours come from the same source (God) and inhabit the same terrestrial hemisphere (Earth).

The Visual aptly places Black as the colour of life and this is not far fetched from the fact that, Black as a colour is indomitable, the earth truest form and every human irrespective of race emanated from and shall return to the earth. It also accords Africa its place as the birthplace of humanity and the cradle of civilisation. The visual therefore, seeks to break the shackles of racism and connects humanity with divinity underscoring that, our understanding the past events of mankind, and appreciateing these events is the only guarantee of a bright future for the human race (History is the future).

Beyoncé 's most provocative lines in this visual finds expression in these words, "People don't remember who they were, what they were, where they were taken from, why people tried so hard to make us forget". With this, I suspect Beyoncé stylishly dived into an epoch in human history. This epoch according to history was characterised by pains for the blacks and glory for the whites. Although, alot is changed in the world since the passing of this epoch. However, the world today lives in denial of the far past. Little wonder, the black race is lost. Lost in itself, lost to the world, and because, somehow, the black race is still in search of its soul. Humanity can't find it true essence. We've indeed lost our humanity. Until we find it. Racist len remains a part of human existence. It's remains a global reality no matter how hard they try to deny it.
Abreast of this fact, Beyoncé wants black to walk with it's head high, tapping into the ingenuity of its ancestors long dead, but whom ingenuity created great empires and arts that were marvel of the world and whose awe made the Europeans braced the peril of the seas and deserts to come visiting Africa.

Beyoncé effisages rewriting history for Black to step into its essence, become known for excellence, and making black synonymous with glory.

In each song in Beyoncé 's Black Is King musical film, there is a richness of expression with artistic performances of the characters and settings in perfect blend.

The costomes aren't just stunning, but timeless and powerfully attractive, portraying the richness in African culture and the Africanness of the universe itself.  Indeed, Black Is King.

From the musical film, the beauty of the womenfolk and the graceful skill it wield is exhibited in Beyoncé 's eccentric and electrifying performances. The moment Jay-z brought his majestic presence into the visual was the best moment for me. This notwithstanding, Beyoncé charm didn't disappear. Apparently, affirming her place as Queen of Global Pop Culture.

Like every creative work,  Beyoncé 's Black Is King Musical Film is not without flaws. However, its flaws heighten it perfection as a timeless Masterpiece of Art that holds obvious and global truth beyond the narrative that its meants for today's Kings and Queens in search of their own Crowns.
